Who is Better? Survivalists or Preppers?
Being self-reliant is being adopted by people nowadays and there are record numbers to prove it. A long time ago, people saw it normal of having extra supplies. Having livestock and garden at your home is not just a hobby, it was a lifestyle. Survey says that almost half of all Americans do not have more than two days supply of food which is stocked in their homes. Most people do not even have medical kits or even emergency supplies in their homes. There are persons called preppers, these persons are always concerned about their well-being and do not want to be victims in emergency situations.
These people are always prepped and concerned about the things that can possibly happen like natural disasters, typhoon, drought, tsunamis and they are also concerned about man-made disasters like power failures, wars, and government shutdowns. These so called preppers can be equally distinguished with people that have survived and live through the Great Depression in the late 1930s which people were trying to be prepared for anything that can happen. These people keep a long term supply of food and other things that are necessary and can let them survive for months, and they can even stretch their supplies for another month or two if needed be.
Preppers in your neighborhood are considered the most resourceful of all and are always prepared for anything. Having preppers around you is not a bad idea because you can go to them for help because they are always prepared for any disasters that can occur. Most preppers do not want to be called survivalists. The term survivalist does not bode well with preppers and they do what they can to avoid being called that.
The new word that is called prepping is just a very old way of life and it is very, very old. Preppers and survivalists are likely the same because they are very serious when it comes to being prepared all the time. Then it is bumped up to another level, where society of man falls and that is their main focus. Survivalists are prepared for anything and will stock up food and equipment including ammunition and guns that can protect them just in case, they also have backup plans in case anything bad happens or their current plans backfire and lastly will usually stay away from areas which are populated if society falls.
The thing is with survivalists, they mostly believe that they have to defend their families and supplies from anyone or anything that tries to take it away from them. Your average prepper when compared to a survivalists is not that equally skilled although average preppers know how to defend themselves from danger and also have guns and ammunition ready.
